They offer 6 different funeral plans : Copper, Bronze, Zinc, Silver, Gold and Platinum with varying levels of funeral services and cover. Some plans guarantee to cover the costs of the cremation others don’t. There also offer 3 different payment options : a single lump sum, monthly instalments over 1 to 5 years and an insured option that offers a fixed monthly payment that you make until you are 90 years old. Not all payment options are available for all of the different funeral plans.
All this does mean that there is a slightly bewildering number of choices available to you if you want a Golden Leaves funeral plan, so make sure that you understand the differences between what each plan includes. If you are looking for an environmentally friendly funeral then Golden Leaves also offers 3 environmentally friendly funeral plans, again with a choice of payments options. These are more expensive than the standard plans and we suspect there may be better and more economic ways of making sure that your funeral is environmentally friendly but these do offer a convenient approach if you are happy with the extra cost.
Golden Leaves offer 6 different funeral plans : Copper, Bronze, Zinc, Silver, Gold and Platinum each with varying levels of services included. They start with the Copper plan which is a direct cremation service, this means no mourners, no funeral service, a basic coffin, everything you need to be cremated but without ceremony.
The Copper Plan is the most basic direct cremation funeral that Golden Leaves offers. Direct cremation is growing in popularity in the UK where more and more people are opting for this fuss free approach to their funeral.
The Copper plan covers the services of the funeral director, the collection of the deceased, the doctor’s fees, cremation fees and transport of the deceased to the crematorium.
It does not include the use of the chapel of rest, limousines, attendance of mourners and there is no funeral service. The ashes of the deceased can be scattered at the crematorium or can be collected by the next of kin.
The Golden Leaves Bronze funeral plan offers a straightforward funeral including the services of the funeral director, collection of the deceased, care of the deceased prior to the funeral, use of the chapel of rest, attendance of a conductor and 4 pallbearers to carry the coffin, a hearse to meet mourners at the crematorium or cemetery, a simple coffin, thank you cards. A bereavement service is also available in some areas.
The Bronze funeral plan does not cover the costs of the cremation, cemetery or clergy fees. These will need to be paid by your next of kin or from your estate.
The Golden Leaves Zinc funeral plan includes a simple cremation funeral service, the services of the funeral director, a hearse to meet mourners at the crematorium, collection of the deceased, care of the deceased prior to the funeral, chapel of rest, attendance of a conductor and 4 pallbearers to carry the coffin on the day of funeral.
The Zinc funeral plan does not guarantee that it will cover the costs of the cremation, cemetery or clergy fees but provides a £840 towards these costs. This means that your next of kin or estate may be charged any costs above this amount at the time. In order to keep the costs of this plan so low the funeral director will decide the date and time of the funeral which is likely to be at less popular times of the day, early morning for example.
The Golden Leaves Silver funeral plan includes the services of the funeral director, collection of the deceased, care of the deceased prior to the funeral, chapel of rest, a basic coffin, attendance of a conductor and 4 pallbearers to carry the coffin on the day of the funeral, a hearse to meet mourners at the crematorium or cemetery, the cost of the cremation and any clergy fees.
If a burial is chosen then the plan will pay up to £940 towards these costs but does not guarantee to cover the total cost. Any amount of this would need to be paid by your next of kin or from your estate at the time.
The Golden Leaves Gold Funeral Plan includes the services of the funeral director, collection of the deceased, care of the deceased prior to the funeral, chapel of rest, a standard coffin, attendance of a conductor and 4 pallbearers to carry the coffin on the day of the funeral, a hearse to meet mourners at the crematorium or cemetery, one limousine, full listing of all floral tributes, thank you cards and the full cost of the cremation and clergy fees.
Where a burial is chosen then the plan pays a contribution of £940 towards the costs. Any costs in excess of this allowance are paid by your next of kin or from your estate at the time.
The Golden Leaves Platinum funeral plan includes the services of the funeral director, collection of the deceased, care of the deceased prior to the funeral, chapel of rest, a high quality coffin, attendance of a conductor and 4 pallbearers to carry the coffin on the day of the funeral, a hearse to meet mourners at the crematorium or cemetery, provision of two limousines for mourners, fill listing of floral tributes, thank you cards, the full cost of the cremation and clergy.
Where a burial is chosen then the plan will pay a contribution of £940 towards the cost of the burial. Any costs above this will be paid by your next of kin or from your estate at the time.
