These are the standard range of funeral plans.  We recommend the Co-operative Funeral Care Funeral Plan and the Dignity Funeral Plan.  As you can see from the comparison these are the only companies that guarantee that they will cover third party costs like the cost of the cremation.  Given that funeral price inflation over the last few years has been largely driven by rises in these costs we don’t feel that we could recommend a plan that didn’t guarantee to cover these costs.  The rest of the funeral features are much the same.  Take a look and make your choice.

If you’ve made it all the way down here then you might be wondering whether there are cheaper options available.  There are cheaper funeral plans available but we wouldn’t recommend them as they typically don’t provide even an allowance towards third party costs – so in our mind they are false economy.  However, there are ways of making some of the best funeral plans more affordable.  There are different ways to pay for your funeral plan which might bring them within your budget.  Instalment options are available but remember that there will be additional charges for these.  Alternatively most providers offer an insurance back funeral plan which can bring the monthly cost down to an affordable level – they also guarantee to pay for your funeral once you’ve had the plan for 2 years, unlike the instalment options where there is a balance to pay if you havent reached the end of your instalment terms.  The downside of the insurance backed option is that you could end up paying until your 90 years old.
